Susan Squellati Florence is an international author and artist. She has written and illustrated greeting card collections, gift products, and series of giftbooks with publishers in the U.S., UK, and South America. Poetry has been a personal way of passage through the years, consigned to the “bottom Drawer” until 2004 when a bad dream woke her up to the power and place poetry in her life. Since then, Susan has attended the annual San Miguel Poetry Week, participates in poetry workshops, zooms, readings, retreats, and considers poetry her spiritual ground during these Covid years. Her poems have won prizes; have been published in journals, anthologies, and reviews; and her first chapbook, A Stunning Absence, was published by Finishing Line Press. Susan’s poem “Legacy” was a finalist for the 2020 Red Wheelbarrow Poetry Contest and nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
