The Orchard Street Press is pleased to announce the release of Quiet Diamonds 2023 the sixth edition of its annual poetry journal. Poems chosen for this year’s book were selected from among the entries to the 2023 Orchard Street Press Poetry Contest.
About Quiet Diamonds 2023, William Greenway, Distinguished Professor of English at Youngstown State University and author of Everywhere at Once (Poetry Book of the Year, the Ohio Library Association), writes: “The thing about diamonds is that they are just rocks in the dirt till they are discovered and brought into the light by visionaries, and the editors here have hit pay dirt and uncovered treasures…all these poems are “quiet” but memorable. Congratulations all around.”
Michael Keshigian, widely published poet—nationally and internationally—and author of thirteen poetry collections, observes: “The poems of Quiet Diamonds 2023 offer fresh, penetrating insights into the challenges that confront the human spirit during the realization of personal tribulations, conflicts which instigate an upheaval of positivity, buoyed by hope, illuminating a justifiable perception and resolution…themes that move beyond living into the realm of imagination where the ultimate path forward becomes one of growth, communicated through vivid imagery and fresh language to bolster a most identifiable reading experience.”
As with its five predecessors, Quiet Diamonds 2023 was collected from among the poems submitted to the annual Orchard Street Press Poetry Contest. For this edition, more than seven hundred individual pieces, entered by poets from thirty-eight states, were considered. Forty-five poems were selected for the journal.
Copies of Quiet Diamonds 2023 can be purchased for $17, either online or through the mail, from The Orchard Street Press, address and other contact information noted below.
